Alessandro Colletti, graduated in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technologies at the University of Milan, graduated with a second level master's degree in "Food and Nutraceuticals: design, development and marketing" at the University of Pavia, graduated in Food Sciences at the University of Pisa, PhD in Pharmaceutical and Biomolecular Sciences at the University of Turin, undergraduate in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Eastern Piedmont. He is currently the macro-regional delegate of the Italian Society of Nutraceutics (SINut), national secretary of the Italian Society of Formulators in Nutraceutics (SIFNut), member of the board of directors of the Italian Society of Medicinal Mushrooms (SIFM). He carries out research at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technologies (University of Turin) and collaborates with clinical research centers. He is the author of several publications in national and international journals (>100). His main fields of research concern preclinical and clinical applications of nutraceuticals, the development of new extraction and formulation technologies of nutraceuticals with reduced oral bioaccessibility, and new dietary-nutraceutical protocols in the prevention of chronic-degenerative diseases.

Currently Research Director at the National Research Council, where he studies natural compounds present in the diet and their possible role in modulating, at the molecular level, the mechanisms of prevention and treatment of chronic and degenerative diseases, including cancer. In 2023 he was appointed Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
